Daddy Got A New Pair Of Shoes!

Notice anything different? Hopefully BuzzMyBlog.com is looking a little cleaner. I've been working on these theme design changes for some time now, and I am pretty happy with them. What do you think? My goal was to make the changes subtle in order keep some of the personality of BuzzMyBlog. But I also wanted to clean things up a bit and make it a little easier on the eyes. I would love to hear your opinions and/or additional suggestions.

Perhaps things are not that noticable until you look at how it was. Here is are all the changes:

  • Made the font a little bigger and easier to read 
  • Added a little color to the menu bar
  • Added a special header to focus on the Weekly Buzz
    • Shows the last 4 Weekly Buzz Winners
    • Give a quick intro to new readers
    • Shows the current week's prize
  • Put more focus on my subscription options, including my Twitter profile
  • Got ride of the cluttered third column
  • Axed BlogRush, MyBlogLog, and other useless crap

I'll be adding a few more things in the days and weeks to come. Some things I have in mind are my actual Twitter feed and some private ad spots. In the meantime, let me know if you have any comments or suggestions.

I agree, subtle and nice...

I would change the Buzz My Blog logo from a GIF to a PNG (resave from the original file). IT will be roughly the same size but should get rid of the jagged look on the edges.

Thanks guys. My main objective was to make it look a lot less cluttered. I think I've accomplished that while making everything look a little "cleaner".

Forest, thanks for the idea bout the logo. I didn't even realize it looked jagged. My laptop resolution is pretty high so it looked ok to me. Maybe at some point you can help me clean up the logo a bit. I hear you're pretty good with graphic design. Smile Love the Gravatar by the way.

Lookin' Good Mr. Kotter! You pulled off the improvements rather well in my opinion. The colored menu bar and weekly buzz bar look fantastical and compliment the color of your logo.

By far the most fantastical feature of your blog (at least for today) is the always impressive GrandmasterB avatar. ACES!

Thanks and thanks, I like my gravatar too Smile, was trying to find a way to hide the real me but still be me!

I have been known to dabble with graphics a little!
The jaggedness is not bad a t all, just one of them small things that I know could be improved with no hard work Smile

Hi Jeff! Nice layout and yes it's very easy to the eyes. I am not really an expert on web design and stuffs but I would suggest you to cut down the recent comments and recent post list to 5 numbers.

If you did cut it down then you can use the space for a valuable ad or something.


I'd suggest that you use a tag cloud instead of the basic layout of your tags.Tag cloud would be really catchy Smile


Hope you don't mind my comments but one thing's for sure, you got a great website Smile Keep it up!
