Tammie's blog includes topics of general interest. She posts interesting thoughts about her life, her loves, her pet peeves, and according to her "the shiny things I encounter along the way". What I really like to about her blog is the pure honestly of it. Tammie is not afraid to be honest with her readers and candid about everything that is going on in her life. (Congratulations on the new job Tammie!). While she does look to make a little money from her blog, she does not compromise her moral values for the sake of a couple bucks. Her blog even includes a Disclosure Page, where she writes:
"Sometimes I’ll identify paid or compensated postings as such; sometimes I won’t. But I will not compromise my moral compass for the sake of a few bucks or some other shiny thing. In short, don’t look around here for any lies. I will only accept offers from those sponsors which I feel comfortable writing about favorably or those that are not put off by constructive criticism."
Well done Tammie! Her candor and values are refreshing in this cut-throat world of blogging were everyone just wants to make a quick buck. I believe her blog is well on its way to great success. Seeing how she is a fan of constructive criticism, however, there are two pieces of advice I would offer. First, I believe she would probably see a lot more revenue from her Google Ads if they were placed in more relevant locations. Right now, they are way off to the right and pretty far down on the page. She would probably see more ad clicks they were more in the flow of the content. Perhaps a link ad at the end of each post might help. Second, I really like the design of her theme, but she might be able to make it even more appealing with a good looking header. Perhaps an image and/or a new tag line. Its amazing how many people don't follow a blog that isn't eye-catching, even if the content is wonderful.
Tammie's honesty is apparent in her Acceptance Speech which offered up these words of wisdom for her fellow bloggers:
The best advice I can give is to be yourself. Honesty always shines through, and unless you're a psychopath, so does deception. Oh, and check your grammar.
